TO CORRECT MIS-REPRESENTATION OF Tony Rollins:

Tony Rollins has a right of reply:

On 16 August 2008 the Birmingham Mail published a photo of Tony Rollins with the caption under the photo which said 'OFFENSIVE' - Tony Rollins". Tony is not "offensive". He is a Christian who loves his neighbour. It is unfair for them to label him as offensive.-There has been no 'Trial'. He was reading the Bible. -Therefore, instead of his name, should be 'The Holy Bible'; if that is what they really allege.

It was reported in the same newspaper report that "District Judge Khalid Qureshi said he was not prepared to go ahead with the trial at the City Magistrates Court because he wanted to study relevant case law". This was untrue. The reason for abandoning the one day trial set for 15~ August was because the District Judge had only received the papers about the trial just before the Court Hearing. Surely this wasting of everyone's time and tax payers money was the fault of others in Birmingham, not the learned Judge.

It was wrong for the newspaper to incite many people against Tony Rollins by leading their article with the claim that he gave a 'Public sermon on the wrongs of homosexuality". He did not preach a public sermon on this subject. He was in fact reading a list of types of behaviour from the book of Romans chapter 1 in the New Testament, which shows the true nature of mankind such as "Fornication, Wickedness, Covetousness, Maliciousness, Envy, Murder, Strife, Deceit, Evil-mindedness, Backbiting, Violence, Pride, Boasting, Inventing evil things, Disobedience to parents, Covenant breaking, Having no natural affection, Unforgiveness and Having no mercy". The purpose of such a list in the book of Romans, Corinthians, Galations, and the book of Revelation is to show, as said in Romans chapter 3 verse 19 that ~All the world may become guilty before God". As an Evangelist who preaches the Brethren Gospel Message from the Bible, Tony then proclaims the solution to overcome this guilt, which is personal faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. A man asked him sorne questions on the 'list' in the book of Corinthians in the New Testament and then called the Police when he disagreed with what the Bible said. Tony's message has been misrepresented by this Court Action against him and such misrepresentation has been repeated in the newspaper articles written against him.
